Oral health is one of the most ignored aspects of our health. Even people who take a keen interest in matters of health often ignore their dental health. However, studies now show that your oral health can significantly impact your overall health, so it is important to make sure your teeth, gums and surrounding structures are healthy. Prevention is usually easier and less costly than the cure and oral health is no different.
One such preventive measure is visiting the dentist in Dallas twice a year for dental cleaning or exam. If you haven’t visited the dentist in a while, you might wonder how to prepare for the visit. You should think about whether you have noticed changes in your dental health, have any pain, have any swelling, notice foul breath or foul tastes in your mouth.
Take note of any teeth that are sensitive or are causing pain. Knowing what elicits the pain (ex. Hot, cold, sweets, air) is very helpful in determining the cause of your pain. Knowing how long the symptoms have persisted may also be helpful in diagnosis.
